Our Flamingo Vellies are more than a pair of shoes. They’re a visible reminder that breast cancer deserves our attention - and that every woman deserves access to the treatment and care she needs.

It started with Trish.
Trish, a former Freestyle sales agent, was diagnosed with breast cancer, and Project Flamingo helped her access the treatment she needed. Sadly, she passed away while our very first In Her Shoes campaign was still underway.

We continue the campaign in her memory, and in support of the many women who still need access to breast cancer treatment and care.

With every pair of Flamingo Vellies purchased, Freestyle donates R100 to Project Flamingo, helping them provide timely breast cancer surgeries, holistic support and essential care to vulnerable patients in South Africa’s public healthcare system.

VELLIE DESCRIPTION: 

All-time original classic SA Hunter Veldskoen since the 1950's. Crafted the old-fashioned way, with a strong water resistant insole and Thermo-Rubber sole for extra wearability in the Freestyle tradition. Made with a variety of different coloured soles.

DETAILS: 

The Hunter is a large fit, and it is recommended that you take a size smaller than your normal size. It can take a day or two to become comfortable, so wear them around the house initially before going on a long walk.

CARE:

Before wearing your boots for the first time apply a coat of Freestyle Suede Protector, which will protect the suede from staining. Thereafter, remove any loose mud or dirt with the Freestyle Cleaner and brush out with the Freestyle Suede Brush and to keep your vellies in mint condition, reapply the Suede Protector. There is also a Stain or Spot Remover that works really well in removing stains, which should be used with the suede brush. Spray the SR onto the stain and then brush off. Repeat if necessary.
