Medical Sheepskins - 100% Genuine Merino Wool

Medical sheepskins - we only supply genuine merino wool, are ideal for people who are bed-ridden, for new-borns and babies in prams and strollers, as well as for general use. They are hypoallergenic and provide a soft and supportive cushioning, to distribute pressure evenly and reduce the risk of developing pressure-ulcers and bedsores.

The natural properties of sheepskin regulate body temperature, offering warmth during winter and coolness in warmer weather. Wool is naturally breathable, which provides air circulation and it wicks away moisture, maintaining a dry and healthy environment for the body and skin.

Medical sheepskins are tanned with antibacterial and anti-fungal chemicals. They have a higher density of wool fibres than standard sheepskins and are suitable for handwashing. The pile-height of the wool fibres is 20-30mm long. 

Sizes are approximate, as no animal is exactly the same, but the size is roughly 700mmm x 1000mm(0.7sq.Metre). This is a natural product, so it is impossible to consistently achieve a perfect skin.

Care and Washing: Gently wash in cold water, using a suitable mild detergent. Dry in a cool shaded area – it is important to keep out of the sun. Do not rub, brush or massage the sheepskin.
