Corkies Kiirsten Ladies Anatomical Premium Leather sandals

DESCRIPTION: The Kiirsten is a twin buckle slip-on sandal crafted with a moulded, anatomical, imported Spanish cork footbed, covered with genuine suede, designed to provide a comfortable, stable walking experience and promote healthy posture. The uppers are made of soft premium-grade Nubuck leather with a microfiber lining to wick sweat away, keeping feet cool and dry. The sole is made of a proudly South African exclusively designed and hard-wearing high-grade 8mm lightweight EVA  Handmade in Cape Town, South Africa.

DETAILS: Nubuck is made by lightly buffing the grain of the leather to create a fine nap(almost like velvet). We have our leather tanned with a water resistant additive, to make the leather more stain resistant.

NATURAL PROCESS: The cork is harvested from trees in Spain and Portugal, ground up into cork chips and then mixed with a natural, water-based, latex adhesive. The cork dough is then pressure-moulded onto a hessian and flax carrier, before fusion to a naturally-tanned suede cover. It's a natural ecological and technical process, that is almost unchanged for over a hundred years.
