  • Scholar V vegetable-tanned leather satchel

Made the old-fashioned way using vegetable-tanned leather. We then dye the leather into different colours. This is one of our very first products created over 35 years ago and still going strong. The satchels age into vintage bags, develop a patina and look better and better with use.

This satchel is fitted with back-straps and is a great alternative to the expensive nylon schoolbags on the market today. We use extra-long, stong rivets and have tried to make the bag tough. Only snag - the bag needs to be fed with dubbin or leather hide food regularly for best results.

We have tried to make this bag so that it will age well and develop into a family heirloom that you can pass down the generations. It does need to be dubbined regularly or fed with Freestyle Leather Balsam to nourish and protect the leather. The satchel will soften and darken with time.

    Dimensions:

    Width: 425mm Height 305mm Compartment Width: 70mm x5 compartments.

    CUSTOMIZE YOUR SATCHEL

As a customer serviced we are offering a laser embossing service whereby we can laser onto the right hand side flap of the satchel a name or message - if you opt for this service the satchel becomes non-returnable unfortunately, although all our product quality warranties still apply.

Good quality and craftsmanship. We had a special request for a shoulder sling instead of the back straps and it was done perfectly.

Would it be possible to make it with a shoulder sling as well?
